Tributes to Dame Te Ata - a loved leader
We were humbled as young high school students of the East Coast at that time, and I have been privileged to meet and share a smile with "our lady" many times as an adult. Other than my own nannies and my mother ... I can think of no woman more deserving of praise for her love for the people and indescribable beauty of spirit. Moe mai ra e te kahurangi, kua whai hua o tini mahi mo te iwi Maori, na, e okioki koe i nga ringa aroha o o matua tipuna. We love you and miss you.

14. australias best loved croc man |
Name of deceased: Steve Robert Irwin |
Date deceased: Sept 4 2006 |
Deceased in country: Australia |
|
Epitaph or death notice: |
Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors Worldwide are in mourning for a beloved friend and respected leader. The global response to the loss of Steve Irwin and the public outpouring of empathy we have received has been overwhelming, and a significant comfort to those of us who knew him. This is not just a loss for us, but for a planet full of people who loved him so well, and for the world’s precious wildlife that he laid his life on the line to protect.
Steve was a true original; he brought energy and passion to everything he did. Whether it was performing groundbreaking crocodile research on board his vessel Croc One, filming wildlife documentaries or simply celebrating his children’s birthdays, Steve didn’t do anything by half. A hard-core Wildlife Warrior and dedicated family man, Steve did for conservation and education what no one had ever done before. He brought wildlife conservation right into people’s living rooms and created a whole new generation of Wildlife Warriors.
The exceptional life Steve led is a testament to his respect for all creatures great and small, and his passion for wildlife was matched only by his passion for family life.

Epitaph or death notice: |
In Mermory of Colin Poole 1952to 2004
Blow Moulders Ltd
It was with regret that the industry learned of the passing of Colin Poole late last month.
Colin was a devoted husband and father to Kathy and Daniel and much lived younger brother of Graham, Errol, and Linda.
He wil be sadly missed by all his staff at Blow Moulders Ltd.
Colin was respected throughout the industry for his engineering and production abilities.
He had a noted love of music and a passion for building and developing steam engines.
Colin joined his father Ray`s company asa school leaver and did his "apprenticeship"working on all the important basics for plastics production. While he didn`t receive a formal engingeering qualification he was probably fortunate to have inherited the engineering gene from Ray and so progressed in a few years to die setting then tool makingand years later building blow moulding machines for the company.
Vistor to Blow Moulders can recall many earnest hours of conversation with Colin on designs he had progressed with and solutions he had developed- explained in a manner so matter-of-fact it often left foreigners dumbfounded. Colin was a confident man and stoic at overcoming challlenges that were thrown up even as his health declined over these last few years.
We will all miss him.

Epitaph or death notice: |
In life it gets hard when things change, but true love remains the same; Love alters not within brief hours or weeks but bears it out even to the edge of doom
In Loving Memory of TUI
1970 - 2006
Fiancée of Tracy, Step-dad of Sheree, "Dad" of Kara-May, Papa of Nerissa - (This family you chose to love and share your life with)
Though we are far apart
You will always be in our hearts
You will always be in our thoughts
Therefore you can never be far away
Your laughter will always be remembered
Your smile would light up the darkest room
You loved to play pranks, were funny & full of life
You left us my darling way too soon
WE LOVE YOU
Tragically killed while cruising on his Harley Davidson motorbike.
My love, my life and best friend has been taken.
There are no words adequate to express the emptiness that I feel. |
